The Old North is a local food bar in the northern, restaurants-and-bars-heavy part of Dizengoff Street. In this competitive environment, the Old North aspired to attract more than its share of random visitors that hoard the street every weekend, and to also become a real local bar/salon – one that understands the true nature of the neighbourhood, and connects with it and its residents in a deeper way.

The Tel Avivian neighbourhood theme is present in every aspect of the brand. Starting the naming – which makes a statement towards the residents of the neighbourhood, the use of quotes from artists that somehow represent Tel-Avivian values, and even references to city’s contemporary hangout culture like “Don’t tag me, I told work that I’m at the doctor’s”. The graphic language also expresses the same local character, with a wide Hebrew font that is functional yet present.

The green-pink colour palette is bold, unapologetic, and most of all – does not line up with the soft palettes that rule many cafes and restaurants in town. The brand’s illustrative language is flat and draws its inspiration from paper shreds, in a style that creates a distinct visibility and is easy to expand when the need for further original visualisation rises.
