Zumu mobile museum’s exhibition in Acre was named “The Zifzif Inn” as a tribute to local history, and Gershon Knispel׳s iconic artwork in the town’s central bus station, but also to nostalgic Israeli aesthetics. We have designed a new Hebrew font, based on and inspired by Knispel’s work, that was used for the exhibition’s logo as well as a headline font for its visual identity.

The font “Zifzif” has strong straight stems and sharp edges, yet its diagonal tops releases it from its stiffness and creates a playful typeface. The visual language was inspired by various applications of old Israeli tourism brands – from newspaper ads to branded hotel napkins. The bilingual logo also refers to Israeli nostalgia, with its illustrated palm trees and complex oval typographic layout.
